Lunch with the girls was great. They had gone to the Wawa and had a bite of hoagie. They wouldnt be at the house tonight, he had told them. He wanted some time alone, just for a few days so they shouldnt leave for somewhere he wouldnt be able to get to them. At first they looked disappointed but then when he wrote them both a check of five grand each, they brightened up.
As a good bye to him, they dragged him to the toilet and got banged really hard.
It was almost four and Thompson had called just about three minutes ago to tell him the bike was on its way. He now sat at his table waiting patiently for the announcement that a new package had arrived. How glorious it would be to have the bike at last in his shop. He had called Sam and told him to handle the receiving of the bike. Minutes before he went for lunch, he had also removed the Harley Davidson from where it was and redecorated the spot so that it was perfect for the Hyabusa.
He would love to dream of the money of the money he could see coming. He didnt want either Jessica or Andrea to disturb that dream and that was the reason why hed sent them away. He knew that deep down in his mind, he was being foolish but how could he help it, he was looking at more money.
Forty minutes later, he heard the knock on his door and he knew that his bike had arrived. Come in Sam. He said.
The spectacle-eyed engineer walked into the office. His short jet-black hair was well combed, his fingernails well trimmed and too neat for an engineer.
Sir, the bike has arrived. He announced.
I kind of figgered dat out Sam. Cedrick replied.
Haff ya done all da necessary processing? he asked.
I haff. I was waiting for ya to come down so dat we can place it on da podium. Sam said.
Of course, Ill be down there in just a minute, trying to make sure I figger something out quickly. Cedrick answered. Youse can go on, Ill meet ya there. He added.
Yes sir. Sam replied and walked out of the office. The boy had really grown in his seven years of working for him. Like most of the kids who decided to go to college in the neighborhood, he went to Penn State also. Just before he completed his course, his parents died in a home fire accident. It was during their burial he offered the boy the job. He had been very glad and eager to work with him. Although the job was not the best one he could have got, he had accepted it and in his years of working for him, Cedrick has seen the boy mature, learnt so many things that university never taught him. He was paying him a hundred and twenty thousand dollars annually but he was looking for a way to increase the boys salary â at least since he got married and had kids.
